Leisure Lawn announces the finding of yet another prognosticating pet ground hog, Kekionga Kelly. Kelly is a pet of 4-year-old Piper Dailey, a close friend of Leisure Lawn's owners. Leisure Lawn's cracked, hardly scientific technicians have spent many arduous minutes observing Kekionga Kelly's prognostications and have found them to be 100% accurate.
Prognosticating ground hogs like Pauxtawney Phil and others have been predicting the arrival of spring weather for years. Now, Fort Wayne has its own prognosticating pet ground hog. Hoosier lore has it that if a prognosticating ground hog emerges from its den on February 2nd and sees its shadow - it runs back into its den and we are going to have 42 long days of winter weather before spring. If the ground hog does not see its shadow and stays outside its den, then we only have six short weeks of winter weather before spring.
Leisure Lawn is anxious for spring weather to come, so they can begin taking care of lawns in the Fort Wayne area. Jim Anderson of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo came to observe the phenomenal prognosticating pet ground hog, Kekionga Kelly and to announce the spring opening of the Children's Zoo on April 19th. He observed that Kelly had long ears and was not in fact a ground hog, but a large rabbit! When Kelly was returned to its owner, Piper, she was heard to say, "Silly rabbit! Who put the blindfold on you?"
